John Price
I have been involved in supporting young people with additional needs for 40 years, initially as a teacher within a special school and then for the past thirty years or so as an educational psychologist. For 16 years or so I was the link educational psychologist for Corbets Tey school working closely with staff, parents and young people and supporting the development of the school’s current expertise in communication and interaction. I still work as an educational psychologist completing assessments for Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
I came to academic education later in life after initially working as a mechanical fitter in the chemical industry and have completed two masters degrees and a doctorate whilst working full time. I have had the good fortune to have been taught a great deal by the young people I have had the privilege of working with. Over time I have developed a great degree of personal and professional experience in the field of autism. It was a great privilege to be asked to join the governing body and I hope that my experience will be helpful to the school community.
